Judith Ann ”Lambo” Lambiaso, 68 of Abingdon, died at 5:15 a.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at her home.She was born July 9, 1950 in LaHarpe, the daughter of Ray and Edith (Stout) Shugart.  She married Frank Lambiaso on August 21, 1976 at the Abingdon Christian Church.  He preceded her in death on December 24, 2012.

Judy is survived by her children, Adam Lambiaso of Galesburg and Sarah Lambiaso of New Port Richey, Florida; two grandchildren, Malia and Alain; one sister, Elaine Swigart of Peoria; and nieces, nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, Maurice Ray Shugart and two adult brothers, Jerry Shugart and Rich Shugart.

She graduated from Abingdon High School in 1968 and attended Eureka College for two years and transferred and graduated from Western Illinois University in Macomb. She worked as a substitute and part time teacher before being hired as a full time teacher by the Abingdon School District #217.  She taught English and Literature at the Abingdon Junior High School from 1992 to 2013, retiring in May of 2013.  While teaching, she earned her Master Degree in Education.  She attended the Abingdon United Methodist Church.  She was a member of the Abingdon American Legion Auxiliary.  Her hobbies included caring for her cats, knitting, reading, and traveling in her Mustang convertible.  She loved her family and considered all her school kids her family.

Cremation will be accorded.  Her celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Abingdon American Legion followed by a time of food and fellowship. Private burial of her ashes will be in the Abingdon Cemetery.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
