Man charged with seventh DUI pleads guilty to lesser offense

URBANA, Ill. (AP) – A central Illinois man with six convictions for driving under the influence of alcohol has pleaded guilty to a case that allows him to avoid a seventh DUI conviction.

David Pribble of Champaign pleaded guilty Tuesday to driving with a license that had been suspended or revoked for driving under the influence.

The News-Gazette in Champaign reports under the plea agreement, felony counts of aggravated DUI with six or more convictions will be dismissed at his sentencing. The sentencing of the 57-year-old Pribble is scheduled for April 18.

Pribble was arrested in May 2018 after a woman reported her car had been hit in a store parking lot. Police later located the car and determined Pribble had been the driver. They found Pribble hiding in the closet of a home, holding a glass of alcohol.
