Nancy L. Bloomgren, 73, of Galesburg, died at 2 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2019, at home.She was born November 4, 1945, in Alton, Illinois, the daughter of Peter and Edith (Edwards) Olson. She married Carl H. Bloomgren on February 19, 1967, in Galesburg. He preceded her in death June 25, 1992. She is survived by a daughter, Terry (Dale) Tracy of Galesburg; two granddaughters, Kerbi (Nick) Stacker of Galesburg and Mackenzie Boland of Joliet; a great granddaughter, Avery Stacker; and a sister, Susan Olson of County Club Hills. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Steven Olson and LaVere Schmidt. Nancy was an LPN, who worked at several area nursing homes and then worked as a traveling nurse for several years, before retiring. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1964 and from Brown’s Business College. Nancy enjoyed Stampin’ Up and adult coloring. She also loved tending to her flowers, her cats, and spending time with her family.
Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Bob Clark officiating. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
