2 women killed, man wounded in Chicago shooting

CHICAGO (AP) – Chicago police are asking for the public’s help to solve a shooting that left two women dead and a man wounded while they sat in a parked car on the city’s South Side.

Chicago police Capt. Gilberto Calderon says the late Monday attack appears targeted but police don’t know why the three were shot. Police say three people got out of a blue sedan and started shooting into the victims’ vehicle. Calderon says police don’t know of any gang conflict in the area.

Police say the three were co-workers. The Cook County medical examiner identified the women who died as 18-year-old Brittani Rice and 19-year-old Senobia Brantley. Police say the 19-year-old man was taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound to his shoulder.

Police say they are investigating and have no one in custody.
