Chicago man charged with murder, ordered held without bail

CHICAGO (AP) – A judge has ordered held without bail a Chicago man charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder in the shooting of two brothers last summer.

The judge issued his ruling during a hearing on Friday in which 44-year-old Louis Lashley appeared on charges that he fatally shot 35-year-old Omar Norwood and shot and seriously wounded Norwood’s 30-year-old brother.

The Chicago Tribune reports that the brothers were fighting another man on July 30 on a street on the city’s South Side. When the other man shouted for help. Lashley approached and shot the brothers multiple times.

Lashley’s arrest this week marks at least the second time he’s faced murder charges. He was ultimately acquitted of murder charges in the 2005 shooting death of a man.
