ROCKTON, Ill. (AP) – The body of a 42-year-old motorcyclist has been found deep in a northeastern Illinois field several days after he apparently crashed.
The (Rockford) Register Star reports that Winnebago County coroner’s office deputies located the man and the motorcycle Tuesday several hundred feet from a road in Rockton, northwest of Chicago.
Coroner Bill Hintz says the Rockford man last was seen by friends about 3 a.m. Saturday. He adds that a preliminary investigation leads authorities to believe the crash occurred sometime early Saturday morning.
A helmet was found at the crash site, but it’s not known if the man was wearing it.
The man’s name was not released. An autopsy was expected to be conducted.
