BURBANK, Ill. (AP) – A Chicago-area private school kindergarten teacher has been charged with sexual assault and solicitation of child pornography stemming from alleged encounters with two underage students.
Shannon Griffin of Oak Lawn is a teacher at Jordan Baptist School in Burbank. The Cook County sheriff’s office alleges the 49-year-old “engaged in sexual conduct” with a boy enrolled at the school.
Griffin also is charged with sending nude pictures and videos of herself to that boy and another boy at the school. She allegedly asked them to send her images.
Griffin’s alleged conduct began in 2013 and continued until March.
Illinois Department of Children and Family Services spokesman Jassen Strokosch says the agency also is investigating “multiple allegations of abuse” involving Griffin and students.
It wasn’t immediately known if Griffin has legal representation.
