Oldest county fair in the state begins Monday, July 8th

The 169th Annual Knox County Fair gets underway today in Knoxville. It’s a week of returning favorites, headlining grandstand shows, and something for everyone. Grandstand activities this year include the Harness Races on Monday, July 8th, the Illiana Tractor and Truck Pulls take the track Tuesday, July 9th at 6:30 pm; Wednesday, July 10th is the stock car races at 6:30 pm, and Thursday, July 11th will feature country star, Craig Morgan. Gates open at 6:00 pm for the 7:00 pm show – grandstand tickets are $20. Head back on Friday, July 12th for the Western IL Figure 8 Racing Series at 6:00 pm. Saturday, July 13th will feature the brand new Classic Car and Hot Rod Cruise-In from 11am-2pm and the Demo Derby Saturday night at 5:00 pm. Stop out Tuesday, July 9th for the bake sale at 5:30 pm. There will be new and antique tractors on display throughout the week plus Emerson Farms Petting Zoo with Daily Pig Races. The Boden Amusements carnival and rides will be featured daily starting Tuesday from 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm – and new this year is Buddy Day on Saturday where your buddy rides for free for every paid rider. Compeer Beer Garden entertainment begins at 8:30 pm each night with Sean Kistler Tuesday, Backstabbin’ Betty on Wednesday, Brushville on Thursday, Patrick N Swayze on Friday and Past Curfew on Saturday.
