Another home burglary, another stolen gun.

Galesburg Police officers were informed by two individuals that a firearm was taken from their residence.

Officers responded to the 1000-block of East North Street on Thursday at around 7:47 p.m. where the residents believed the gun was taken the day before, sometime between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

They told officers that they went to retrieve their gun from its case in their bedroom to go shooting when they noticed it was gone. The gun was without its magazine, which was stored in a different location.

The residents advised that they left the house locked using two deadbolts. However, when they returned the deadbolts were unlocked and the doorknob was instead locked.

The gun was described as a Hi-Point CF380, a .380 caliber semi-auto pistol.
