Mike Washabaugh is in his second year as head coach of the Galesburg Silver Streaks football team. The good news is that the numbers are up in the program, especially at the lower levels. That does not come without a lot of in-school recruitment. While the Streaks should be improved, with an experienced QB returning, a solid offensive line and good core of receivers, they face a somewhat daunting schedule. That schedule includes another battle with new WB6 conference members Geneseo and perennial playoff power Sterling. Coach Washabaugh joined Tom Meredith on “Galesburg’s Morning News” to talk about the upcoming season, safety, rule changes and more.
