Susan J. Edmund, 83, of Alpha, died Saturday, September 7, 2019, at home. Services to celebrate her life are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 14, 2019, at Harvest Bible Chapel in Woodhull. Burial is in the Andover Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, September 13, 2019, at Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home in Woodhull. Memorials may be left to the Harvest Bible Chapel or Tri-County Ambulance. Online condolences can be made at petersonwallinknox.com. She was born April 27, 1936, in Galesburg, IL to Herbert and Marguerite Anderson Peterson. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1954 and married John W. Edmund Jr. Sept. 25, 1954, at the Coldbrook Christian Church in Cameron, IL. He died on April 12, 2013. She assisted her husband in the operation of their 3rd generation nationally recognized farm that was the largest pork producer in the State of Illinois in the 1970s.  She taught ceramic classes out of her home for many years. Susan was a member of the Harvest Bible Chapel and a former member of the Henry County Farm Bureau and the “Singing Bells.” She enjoyed traveling in their motorhome, sewing, quilting and especially being with her family. Survivors include five daughters: Debi (Pete) Edmund-Ellertsen of Springfield, IL; Connie (Steve) Lemon of Bourbonnais, IL; Cindy (Ed) Summers of Alpha, IL; Marian (Phil) Edmund-Paulson of LeClaire, IA; Marilyn (Phil Berglund) Edmund-DeMay of Oxford, IA; 11 grandchildren: Christopher (Amanda), Kara (Matt), Nichole (Justin), Eric, Dan (Debbie), Emily, Amanda, Angie (Will), Lexie,  Elizabeth (Adam), Payton (Veronique); 8 great-grandchildren: Annabel, Addison, Jonah, Lulu, Edwin John, Andrew, Clara and Grant; 3 step-great-grandchildren: Jonny, Jackie and Reina; many nieces and nephews. Her parents; husband, one daughter: Jennifer; one grandson; one great-grandchild and a sister: Betty preceded her in death. The family would like to thank special caregivers: Sharon Anderson, Stacy Wilson, Debbie and Emily Helle, Jessica Cansino and Mary Cooper.
