Members of the Galesburg Police Department and Illinois State Police will lace em up for charity this Saturday night at John Thiel Gym. The two departments tip off at 6pm for bragging rights and to raise money for the Galesburg Rescue Mission and Women’s Shelter. There will be a free will donation at the door. They encourage local businesses to buy banner ads by contacting Dave Sholl at the Rescue Mission at (309) 343-4151. Matt McFall of the ISP and a Rescue Mission board member and Dan Hostens of the GPD joined Tom Meredith on “Galesburg’s Morning News” to talk about the Rescue Mission and the event.
