The City of Galesburg is planning six blocks of reconstruction for South Seminary Street in Galesburg and is seeking public input on the project.

The City would like members of the public to weigh in on the work that will be done on Seminary Street, running from Berrien Street to 5th Street.

There will be an open house on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Galesburg City Hall in council chambers.

The reconstruction will include complete removal of the existing street, new concrete pavement, new concrete curb and gutter, storm sewer adjustments, and new sidewalks.

Also a new water main will be installed and any lead service lines will be replaced from the main to the residence.

Another feature of the work will be turning a block of E. Knox St. into a one-way.

That would be the block in between Seminary and Chambers St. that runs by Basio Plumbing, Heating and Air, and the street would run towards Chambers.
