Galesburg City Council

The Galesburg City Council passed a slate of fee increases for different city services, almost all of them fairly modest.

For example, a number of construction permits that were previously $35 will now be $40, the first increase since 2016.

Fees for renting out the Lake Storey Pavilion will increase by 11 percent for weekdays and 6 percent for weekends.

As part of the fee adjustment, the city will offer linens for every table.

Notes in Council documents say that the Pavilion fee increase is to make up for cancellations.

Some other increases under the Parks and Rec heading include a 56 percent increase for a Lakeside pool party.

Also in the Parks and Rec category, there will an 11 percent increase in green fees for a regular-season pass at Bunker Links.

But the steeper jump is in discounts offered at the City golf course for more than one additional family member’s regular-season pass.

A third member used to cost $50 and that will jump up to $335.
