The Galesburg Silver Streaks were out rebounded 20 to 10 on the offensive side of things by the Springfield Senators and that was a big difference. Their big girls dominated the Streaks as the Senators come out with a 50 – 46 win over Galesburg in the Thanksgiving Tournament. It’s the first loss for Galesburg on the young season.
Sara Bird had 19-points for Springfield and Riley Jenkins led the way for the Streaks with 17-points, 4-rebounds, 4-assists, 5 blocked shots and a steal and Riley was named the Dave’s Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game.
The Streaks are now 2-1 on the season. They will be on the road for their Western Big 6 Conference opener Tuesday night when they will take on the Geneseo Maple Leafs and we will have live coverage of that game on 92.7 FM The Laser.
