Kevin L. Brown, 65 of Abingdon, passed away at 7 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2019, at his home. He was born August 24, 1954, in Galesburg, the son of George F. and Mildred J. (Kruzan) Brown. He married Darlene D. Williams on October 21, 1972, in Abingdon. Kevin is survived by his wife of 47years, Darlene; one son, Bryan F. Brown of Abingdon and one daughter, Brisk L. Kaiser of Galesburg; two grandchildren, Dane Brown and Olivia Kaiser; and one brother, Keith E. (and Nina) Brown of rural St. Augustine. He was preceded in death by his parents. He had lived in the Abingdon area all of his life and graduated from Abingdon High School in 1972. He worked as a bowl caster at the Abingdon Pottery for 29 years and had served as president of the Pottery Workers Union. He later worked as a truck driver for Williams National Lease in Alpha. He was a past member of the Abingdon Auxiliary Police. Kevin enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, canoeing, motorcycle riding, and playing slot machines. He enjoyed his family and friends.
Cremation will be accorded. Private graveside service will be held at the Abingdon Cemetery. To celebrate his life, the family will receive relatives and friends beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 21, 2019, at Skeeters Place, 100 S. Main St. in Abingdon. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
