The Galesburg Silver Streaks traveled to Geneseo to face the Maple Leafs to open Western Big 6 play for the season, unfortunately falling in the effort 54-51 in overtime. Great effort by The Streaks, who were down by 7 heading into the 4th quarter, and tied it up at 49 at the end of regulation. The Streaks had some chances in overtime but were outscored 5-2 in the overtime period. Geneseo out rebounded The streaks 44-39 and the bigger stat; Galesburg only got to the free throw line 3 times. Riley Jenkins lead the way for GHS with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and a couple of steals earning our Dave’s Autobody Crunchtime Player Of The Game.
