A vehicle that was reportedly stolen from A-to-Z Auto Repair in Galesburg on Monday was recovered that night.

According to a report, the vehicle was located at around 8:59 pm at Showgirls on McClure Street by an Abingdon Police officer.

Galesburg Police responded to assist with the arrest of 43-year-old William W. Hudson. Hudson was arrested previously by Abingdon Police, according to an earlier report, prompting the vehicle to be impounded at A-to-Z in the first place.

Hudson allegedly told police that the had a receipt and paperwork related to getting the vehicle back but officers only found traffic tickets and the impound form.

He claimed he paid $125 at A-to-Z to an individual named “Rick” when the business opened up in the morning.

On Monday, WGIL reported that a chain-link fence had been cut at A-to-Z and the vehicle was stolen from the business.
