Galesburg Silver Streaks Boys Basketball vs. Moline Maroons

Here is a recap of the game from WGIL’s Brad Bennewitz:

“The Silver Streaks struggled with a slow start of a first quarter in a victory against Moline last night, but it was a 9-0 run late in the first quarter into the second quarter that fueled the Silver Streaks on to a 16-point halftime lead and eventually a 26-point victory, 64-38 over the Moline Maroons. The Silver Streaks had three players in double figures led by Jaylin Mccants with 19 points and 15 rebounds, his seventh double-double of the season. Eric Price just missed a double-double with 15 points and 9 rebounds, while Rylee Milan added 15 points as well. Our Dave’s Autobody Crunch-Time Player of the Game was Demarco Harden, who hit the basket at the end of the first quarter that gave the Streaks the lead they would not give up the rest of the night. He also hit a big 3-pointer in the second quarter to extend the lead as the Silver Streaks again went on that nice second quarter run to help secure the victory. The Streaks are now 8-2 on the season, and they even out their Western Big 6 Conference record at 2-2 while Moline drops to 5-4 overall and 1-3 in conference play. Silver Streaks sophomores were also winners as they defeated Moline 60-46, making that their fifth win in their last six games. Galesburg’s next game is at the Taylorville Holiday Tournament, where the Streaks will open against IVC on Thursday with a 4pm tip-off. Brad Bennewitz WGIL sports. ”
