Angelo “Pud” Patrick Mangieri, 67 of Keithsburg and formerly of Abingdon, passed away Friday, December 20, 2019, in Abingdon doing what he loved to do, carpenter work. He was born June 17, 1952, in Galesburg, the son of Joseph L. and Dorothy F. (McKinley) Mangieri. He married Susan Wilson on January 25, 1975, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abingdon. Pud is survived by his wife of 44 years, Susan; four daughters, Gwynne (and David) Ellegood of Wentzville, Missouri, Gretchen (and Adam Gilbert) Mangieri of Abingdon, Jo (and Phil) Albert of Naples, Florida and Jennifer (and Garth) Littell of Abingdon; 9 grandchildren; his siblings, Mike (and Chris) Mangieri of Geneseo, Linda (and Robert) Callahan of Elmhurst, Jim (and Laurie) Mangieri of Chandler, Arizona and Paul (and Felicia) Mangieri of Galesburg; and several nieces and nephews and their families. Pud is also survived by his loving pet Terrier, Ed. He was preceded in death by his parents. He graduated from Abingdon High School in 1970. He was a carpenter and owned and operated Mangieri Construction in Abingdon.   He also worked for BNSF Railroad for 17 years retiring in July of 2017.

Pud served as Mayor of Abingdon from 1997-2001 and as Mayor he played an instrumental part in the Route 41 bridge over the BN tracks between Abingdon and Galesburg. He was a past volunteer fireman, captain and assistant chief for the Abingdon Fire Protection District and later served as secretary of the Board of Trustees for the fire district. He also served on the Abingdon District #217 School Board. He loved his Green Bay Packers and spending time with all his family and friends. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed deer hunting and time spent at the deer camp. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abingdon.

Cremation will be accorded. To celebrate his life, his family will receive relatives and friends from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, December 26, 2019 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel with the praying of the Rosary at 6 p.m. The celebration of his life will continue at Skeeters Place (the Pool Hall) in Abingdon after the Rosary.
