Galesburg Silver Streaks Girls Basketball vs. Effingham St. Anthony Bulldogs

The Galesburg Silver Streaks girls basketball team picked up their 10th win on the season against six losses, in a blowout win Friday over the Effingham St. Anthony Bulldogs at the Mattoon Holiday Tournament 57-21.

The Streaks shot the ball extremely well, 25 for 41 from the field. After leading 14-7 at the end of the first quarter, the Streaks went on a 21-0 run between the first and second quarters, and put the game away.

It was Lauren Livingston leading the way. She had 11 points in the first half, ending with 13, and also had five rebounds and three steals. She was our Dave’s Autobody Crunch Time Player of the Game. Kadynce Lydic came off the bench to score 10 points, and also had three steals. The entire bench saw action, and many of them scored as well.

The Streaks will be back in action Friday at 5:30pm against the Vandalia Vandals at the Mattoon Holiday Tournament. We’ll have coverage starting at 5:10pm on WGIL, WGIL.com, and WGIL on the TuneIn Radio app.
