Galesburg Silver Streaks Girls Basketball @ Limestone

Here’s a recap of the game from WGIL’s Tom Meredith:

The Galesburg Silver Streaks went on a 12-0 run to start the second half and moved on to a victory over the Limestone Rockets, 48-27. The Streaks only gave up 10 points in the 2nd half while scoring 27 themselves.

Riley Jenkins had 18 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and a blocked shot to lead the way scoring-wise for the Streaks. Lauren Livingston scored 10 points, 5 rebounds, and a steal. But it was Audree Peck who was named the Dave’s Autobody Crunch-Time Player of the Game. She scored 9 points, pulled down 8 rebounds and had 7 blocked shots. Audree really set the tone early both offensively and defensively for the Streaks.

Limestone’s big player only scored 2 points, their first basket of the game, but didn’t score again. Audree Peck shut her down with several blocked shots, which made her very hesitant to shoot after that.

The Silver Streaks are now 13-6 on the season while Limestone drops to 3-12.

The GHS sophomores also won in their match-up with Limestone, 55-44.

Galesburg’s next action will be Thursday night in a Western Big 6 conference game when they play host to the Moline Maroons.
