Here’s a recap of the game from WGIL’s Tom Meredith:
The Galesburg Silver Streaks suffered a tough loss to the Moline Maroons, 61-59. The Streaks had as much as an 18 point lead in the 3rd quarter, but got out-scored 24-11 in the 4th quarter.
The Silver Streaks had 30 turnovers in the game, including 12 in the 4th quarter. Part of that due to the fact that they loss their point guard and best ball handler, Riley Jenkins, who fouled out early in the 4th quarter.
Lauren Livingston led the way for the Streaks with 20 points and 13 rebounds for a double-double, along with 3 assists and 1 steal. Lauren was named the Dave’s Autobody Crunch-Time Player of the Game. She got the team going early on with 4 three-pointers. Audree Peck had 12 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 blocked shots. Riley Jenkins in limited time had 4 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocked shots.
The Silver Streaks fall to 13-7 on the year and 3-5 in the Western Big 6. Moline now 15-5 overall and 6-1 in conference play.
The Galesburg sophomores were 62-53 winners over Moline earlier in the evening.
