A cab driver and her roommate were held up at gunpoint in an apparent weekend robbery attempt at the Save-A-Lot grocery store.

According to police reports, officers responded Saturday night to the 900-block of East Main Street for the alleged armed robbery.

Once on the scene, officers spoke with the two victims. The cab driver told police she was dispatched to Save-A-Lot for a fair.

Both people said that after parking in front of the store, two male subjects approached the vehicle. One individual was wearing a multi-colored ski mask the other was carrying what appeared to be a long gun.

The armed man allegedly demanded the doors to be open and struck the driver’s side window with the stock of the gun. The driver drove off quickly when the armed man pointed a gun at them.

Officers were able to review video of the alleged robbery from the grocery store. The video showed the two men run from the scene after the vehicle sped away.

No arrests have been made in the incident. The investigation continues.
