Galesburg Silver Streaks Boys Basketball @ Sterling Golden Warriors

The Galesburg boys basketball team found out just how tough it is to win on the road in the Western Big 6, but they prevailed in the end 65-58 at Sterling.

The Silver Streaks had as much as a 10-point lead in the first half, but the Golden Warriors battled back and took their first lead in the game early in the 3rd quarter. The Streaks responded with a 9-0 run to go up 8-points, and again, Sterling battled back and took the lead again early in the 4th quarter. Galesburg regained the lead 45-44, and kept building the margin to 8-points again and then held on down the stretch to win their 22nd game of the season.

Jaylin McCants was our Dave’s Autobody Crunch-Time Player of the Game. He scored 12 of his 18 points in the 4th quarter and had yet another double-double with 11 rebounds. It was his 14th double-double of the season.

Rylee Milan had a big 2nd half as well, finishing with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Demarco Harden off the bench had 10 points for the Silver Streaks.

Galesburg is now 22-3 on the season and 8-2 in the Western Big 6. The Streaks remain a 1/2-game ahead of Geneseo in conference play.

Silver Streaks sophomores were winners as well. They have only one loss against conference teams after they defeated Sterling, 65-35.
