The Galesburg Silver Streaks picked up a hard-fought win against the Alleman Pioneers at Don Morris gym Thursday (2/06) night, 43-33.
It looked like the Streaks were going to run away with it early, but Alleman fought their way back into it. The Streaks were up 13 to 5 at the end of the first quarter, but just 23 t0 17 at the half. Galesburg went on to get the victory and move to 17-12 on the season and 5-7 in the Western Big 6 Conference.
Lauren Livingston led the way scoring-wise for the Streaks with 14-points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, a couple of steals and a blocked shot. Riley Jenkins was our Dave’s Autobdy Crunch-Time Player of the Game. 13 points for Riley, including three 3-pointers, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and a blocked shot.
During the game, we didn’t feel that the Streaks shot the ball well, but they actually weren’t too bad at 15 for 39 from the field. Alleman on the other hand just 9 of 28. The Pioneers had 17 turnovers while the Streaks had 16. Galesburg out rebounded Alleman 26 to 17.
