Here is a recap of the game from WGIL’s Brad Bennewitz:
The Galesburg boys basketball team won for the 19th time in 20 games, this time another continuous clock game, which didn’t happen until late in the 4th, but a 30-point victory again, this time over Rock Falls, 77-45. That puts the Silver Streaks at 24 and 3 on the season.
Alex Egipciaco is our Dave’s Autobody Crunch-Time Player of the Game. He got the offense started early with 7 of his 12 points in the game coming in the first quarter, and then the rest of the team really started to pick it up. It was another big second quarter for the Streaks when they outscored Rock Falls 23-11. That set the stage for the win going away.
Jaylin McCants was the leading scorer in the game with 23 points. Rilee Milan also finished in double-figures with 10 and Eric Price was the Streaks’ leading rebounder with 8.
It was another doubleheader sweep for the Silver Streak as the sophomores were victorious as well, 64-45.
Rock Falls drops to 15 and 13 on the season.
Galesburg now heads into that big, big first-place showdown with Geneseo coming up on Tuesday (2/11/20) night at John Thiel Gymnasium. It’s also senior night for the Silver Streaks and the Swirl Court will be introduced as well. Tune in for the pregame at 7:06 Tuesday night and a 7:30 tip-off on 93.7 FM and 1400 AM, WGIL and wgil.com.
