New Windsor man arrested on child porn charges

The Illinois State Police have arrested a New Windsor man for three counts of Disseminating Child Pornography.

59-year-old James A. Pierson is currently lodged in the Mercer County Jail on a $500,000 bond.

According to ISP, on January 10, 2020, the Division of Criminal Investigations initiated an investigation after receiving information that Pierson was allegedly engaged in possessing, disseminating, and manufacturing child pornography.

A thorough investigation ensued, and through that investigation, DCI Investigators gathered digital evidence supporting the arrest.

He was apprehended on Wednesday, February, 12, and was charged with the three Class X Felonies.

Assisting the investigation was the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, Kewanee Police Department, New Windsor Police Department, Illinois Attorney General’s Office – Illinois Internet Crimes Against Children, and federal authorities.
