Fulton County man charged with drug-induced homicide

A Farmington man was arrested late last week for a drug-induced homicide that occurred nearly a year ago. In March of last year, 32-year old William Zamaro of Farmington sold methamphetamine mixed with fentanyl to 26-year old Charles Smith of Pekin. That night, Zamaro also sold heroin to another man at Smith’s apartment, according to police. Smith’s body was discovered by police on March 21st of last year in his apartment at 2200 Stoneybrook Road. Law enforcement apprehended Zamaro on Friday last week where he told police he and another man drove to Smith’s apartment that night. Area security footage confirmed it. Zamaro was ordered held on a $250,000 bond for homicide and could face up to 30 years in prison. His next court date is scheduled for March 19th.
