Galesburg’s Parks and Recreation Department has closed all city playgrounds until further notice to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
This should not be taken as the parks are altogether closed.
While it’s true that all Parks and Rec facilities like Hawthorne Pool are closed, and now the playgrounds, residents are still encouraged to enjoy open spaces at the parks like Lake Storey’s walking trail.
While in the parks, please remember to follow social distancing guidelines.
The Connie Nott Dog Park is also closed until further notice
