First responders in Monmouth are looking out for seniors in the community who might need some assistance as they’re stuck at home.

Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce’s Monday newsletter says that first responders in the Maple City are available to help seniors with some simple but essential chores if they’re in dire need.

Some examples they give would be picking up medication, toiletries, clean water, and meal referrals.

Any other needs adults over the age of 55 might have, feel free to call the Monmouth Police non-emergency number, 309-734-8383.

Dispatch will refer you to a first responder that can help, or find a service agency that could be of use.

The Chamber newsletter says they understand the fear of being out in public for many during the COVID-19 pandemic but that “we can get through this together.”
