A group of local philanthropic foundations have put together a $145,000 fund through the Galesburg Community Foundation to support area non-profits through the COVID-19 pandemic.

GCF President Josh Gibb says specifically they want to support non-profits on the frontlines dealing with the coronavirus.

The groups putting forth the funding have supported the Knox/Warren communities often in the past.

They are the Twomey Foundation, the G.L. Vitale Family Foundation, the McClean Family Endowment Fund, and the United Way’s of Knox and Warren County.

The Rapid Relief Fund as it’s called will have grants distributed on a rolling basis during times of need.

You can also contribute to the fund with a donation of any size at YourGCF.org/MakeAGift, or click here

Grants will be made in collaboration with public health and safety response efforts, if they are needed.
