There’s now an easy way for the Knox County public to get access to the latest information from officials on the spread of the coronavirus that causes COVID-19.

The Unified Command, essentially a coalition of health, safety, and education agencies and organizations says this dashboard is the official source of COVID-19 info in Knox County.

They draw information from the Illinois Department of Public Health, the Knox County Health Department and both Galesburg Cottage and OSF St. Mary Hospitals.

The page can easily be found at the top of the City of Galesburg’s website under Knox County Unified Command Dashboard in red letters.

The dashboard shows a statewide map with confirmed cases by county, and numbers for how many tests have been performed in the county, along with how many of those tests were negative and positive.

There had been no confirmed cases in the county yet, but there have been 28 tests performed with 8 still pending.

The Command’s Public Information Officer Erin Olson says that we’re facing “an unprecedented public health crisis” with the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.
She says the Command believes “data-driven decisions”, and “people working together for the greater good is the best way through this difficult time.”
