COVID-19 death toll climbs by 105 in Illinois

CHICAGO (AP) – Illinois officials say the number of people killed by the coronavirus has climbed by 105 to a total of 2,559. At a Saturday afternoon press conference with Gov. J.B. Pritzker, Illinois Public Health Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike also said the number of people who have tested positive in the state climbed by 2,450 to a total of 58,505. But Pritzker said that reason the number of cases climbed so much because the testing has ramped up significantly.
