The Blessings in a Backpack program in Galesburg has continued to grow with the need to feed hungry children. Thus, they decided to start collecting food for storage on top of the food they distribute each week during the school year. With the loss of the opportunity to continue their work with school ending early, they decided to team up with the United Way of Knox County to distribute $10,000 worth of food. Blessings’ advisor Joel Estes and the United Way executive director Laun Dunn joined Tom Meredith and Tyler Gumm on “Galesburg’s Morning News” to talk about their organizations and the partnership.
