Galesburg City Hall will open back up in June.
The building has been closed to public access since Mar. 19, with city employees available to help citizens only via phone or email.
Even though City Hall’s reopening to public traffic they say there will be increased protective measures to keep citizens and employees safe.
There will be additional cleaning and sanitization of all touch points, use of social distance stickers, and requiring all customer service staff and citizens entering the facility to wear a face covering.
Because many residents still might prefer to limit exposure to public spaces options that were in place to help citizens access services over the past few months will stay in place.
A comprehensive look at changes to City services, events and policies as a result of COVID-19 are available on the city’s website.
