Carolyn J. Eudaley, 83 of Abingdon, passed away at 2:25 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2020, at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

She was born May 29, 1937, in London Mills, the daughter of Loyd R. and Ruthelma (Sampson) Owen.  She married Larry “Hammer” Pierson on August 30, 1957, and they later divorced.  She then married Donald Eudaley and he preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, R. Leah Davies, and one brother, Isaac “Ike” Owen.

Carolyn is survived by her children, Roxanne Johnson of Abingdon, Tuesday (and Mithat) Cetin of Florida and Eric Pierson of Maryland; 6 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

She graduated from Abingdon High School in 1955.  She later graduated from the Carl Sandburg College Nursing Program.  She worked as a nurse at the former Abingdon Nursing Home/Care Center of Abingdon.  She attended the First Assembly of God Church in Abingdon.  Her hobbies included reading, working crossword puzzles and putting together jigsaw puzzles, and mostly, spending time with her grandkids.

As she requested, cremation will be accorded.  Due to social distancing limitations related to the COVID-19 pandemic, private viewing was held and a private family service will be held at a later date.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is assisting her family with arrangements.
