Robert W. Fields, age 67, of Knoxville, Illinois died at 4:07 P.M. on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at his home in Knoxville, Illinois.
Robert was born on January 30, 1953, in Galesburg, Illinois the son of J. Marshall and Helen Louise (Hanson) Fields. He attended and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1972.
Surviving is two sisters: Mary Ann (and Marvin) Blair of Pueblo, Colorado, and Marsha (and David) Bailey of rural Gilson, Illinois; one brother, John M. (and Lynn) Fields of Galesburg, Illinois: Five nieces and many great-nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He began working for Swanson Seed Farm, then he worked as a farmhand for the Bailey Farms, rural Gilson, Illinois; Phil and Jeff Johnson farm in rural Gilson, Illinois; he retired from Carl Sandburg College, Galesburg, Illinois in the custodial department. After his retirement, he worked the summers as a groundskeeper for the city of Knoxville, Knoxville, Illinois. He attended Community Bible Church and was a member of the parking crew.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 14, 2020, at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory, the family may not be present. Due to COVID-19 restrictions face masks and social distancing required. Private graveside services will be held on Monday, June 15, 2020, at the Westfall Cemetery, Rural Victoria, Illinois. Rev.
