John Richard Bradshaw, 81 of rural St. Augustine, passed away at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at Seminary Manor in Galesburg.

He was born March 27, 1939, in Macomb, the son of Elmo D. and Inez M. (Miller) Bradshaw.   He married Linda K. Emory on January 25, 1969, in Prairie City.

John is survived by his loving wife of 51 ½ years, Linda; one son, Mike Bradshaw of rural Abingdon; two daughters, Amy Bradshaw of Avon and Janeen Bradshaw of Lake Thunderbird near Putnam; and two grandchildren, Blayne Bradshaw and Addyson Bradshaw.

He graduated from Bushnell High School in 1957. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Texas and Vietnam. John worked for Gunther Construction for 30 years as a heavy equipment operator and he later became the plant manager. He was a member of Peoria Local #649. He retired in 1994. He has lived at his rural St. Augustine home for 51 years. He was a licensed pilot and a member of the Monmouth Flying Club. Other hobbies he enjoyed were building and hunting with muzzleloader rifles, fishing, riding motorcycles, and model train building.

Private graveside service and military rites will be held at Bushnell Township Cemetery. Rev. Jacob Tourtillott will officiate. There will be no visitation. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Coal Creek Bible Church or the Galesburg Rescue Mission.
