The rate of new confirmed coronavirus cases in Knox County has slowed in the last week but there are currently two hospitalizations.
Information was released Tuesday by the Knox County Health Department as a part of their weekly update of data.

With 16 new cases, Knox has had 194 confirmed cases overall, with 55 of those being active cases in which people have yet to recover.
11 residents recovered in the last week, offset by the 16 new cases.

A majority of the new cases are in people younger than 40 although 2 males in their 70’s were confirmed.

Gov. J.B. Pritzker in remarks mentioned an outbreak in a youth softball team in Knox County with last week’s report showing 6 females in their 10’s with confirmed cases.
The local health department has not confirmed that kind of outbreak.

Last week Knox had its all-time high in new cases in one week.
New cases have slowed down from that surge, but cases are growing at a higher rate than at any point since early May.
