
Charlotte G. Charno, 101, of Galesburg, Illinois died 7:50 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at Seminary Manor in Galesburg.
She was born July 2, 1919, in Marshalltown, Iowa to Carl and Gladys (Richeson) Carlson. She married Robert Clarke Sherman. She later married Milton W. Charno March 11, 1967, in Peoria, Illinois. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1998.
Surviving is her son, Rodney C. (and Martha Ellen) Sherman of Burnsville, North Carolina, two grandchildren, Todd Sherman and his wife, Dennise Gackstetter and Kelly (and Tim) Storck, two great-grandchildren, Emma and Logan Storck, and a niece, Cindy Mason of Macomb, Illinois. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Charlotte graduated from Galesburg High School in 1937. She was a secretary/bookkeeper for Herbert B. White and Company in Peoria for several years. She was of the Methodist faith. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, Edwards River Earth Science Club in Aledo, Illinois, and the Geode Land Earth Science Club.
Cremation will be accorded. No services are planned. Cremation burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. Memorials in Charlotte’s name may be made to the Galesburg Rescue Mission or American Heart Association.
