Patsy Lou Mitchell, 83 of Galesburg died on Monday, August 24, 2020 at her daughter Jill Mitchell’s home in Long Beach Mississippi after a battle with cancer.

She was born in October of 1936 in Galesburg, the daughter of John and Pauline McGahey. She was married to Herb Zeltner, then Charles Mitchell, and Howard Anderson all of Galesburg.

She is survived by her sister Mary (Bill) Galloway; three daughters, Jackie (Donald) Jinright, Jodi (Robert) Harland, and Jill Mitchell: two sons, Patrick (Josephine) Zeltner and Jeffery Dutch Zeltner. Also, fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, her brothers, Jay, John and Freddie; and six sisters, Birdie Lietsch, Clarcey White, Shirley Edwards, Isabelle Gibbs, Doris Ray, and Bette Smith. She lived most of her life in Galesburg working and raising her family. She loved her family and her friends. She also enjoyed dancing, travel, reading, treasure hunting, collecting, and volunteering. She left behind a hell of a lot of stuff to her daughters and sons who have no idea what to do with it. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 24 at 12:00 pm at Memorial Garden (Linwood) Cemetary in Galesburg. Memorials can be made to the Galesburg Rescue Mission or the Orpheum Theatre.
