U.S. News and World Report released their annual rankings on Monday of U.S. College and Universities.

Both of the area’s liberal arts colleges slipped slightly in the list, but still hold spots close to the middle.

Knox boasts a #72 ranking among U.S. Liberal Arts colleges. They’re also at #20 among the Best Value Schools, which is the ratio between the ranking of the institution and the amount a student who received the average level of need-based financial aid paid to attend.

Monmouth College is ranked # 127 in the overall rankings. Since 2013, Monmouth has risen almost 40 spots.

Monmouth remains in the Top 30 liberal arts schools in the nation, in terms of social mobility. This marker measures the graduation rates of a school’s students who receive a federal Pell grant compared to those students who did not.

Pell grants get awarded to students from families with greater financial need.
