Ahead of the November 3 election, Republican candidate for a vacancy on the 9th Judicial Circuit bench, Andrew Doyle, has received another round of endorsements from local elected officials.

Several sheriffs in 9th circuit counties have given the Warren County State’s Attorney their endorsement in his bid to win the seat held by Judge Paul Mangieri, until his retirement in July of 2019.

The Doyle Campaign says that Sheriffs Martin Edwards in Warren County, Nick Petitgout of McDonough County, Scott Bentzinger in Hancock County, and retired Henderson County Sheriff Steven Haynes have endorsed Doyle.

Sheriff Petitgout stated in the campaign’s press release that, “the most serious criminal cases result in a jury trial, and the decisions judges make during those trials can have a profound impact on public safety. Our trial court judges should have actual trial experience. Andrew Doyle is the only candidate with criminal jury trial experience, and he can be trusted to make the right decisions for our communities.”

Last week, Doyle received endorsements from State’s Attorneys from Knox, Henderson, McDonough, and Hancock County.

Warren County’s top prosecutor is facing off against Judge Emily Sutton, who was appointed to the vacancy left from Mangieri’s retirement.
