Knoxville Man arrested for DUI and more after traffic stop

Around 11:30 pm Thursday, October 15th, Galesburg Police were dispatched to the 200 block of West Main for a traffic stop where the driver was acting strangely. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the driver: 22-year old Haakon Soggie of rural Knoxville. According to police reports, under the suspicion of driving under the influence, officers had Soggie perform a field sobriety test. After failing the test, Soggie provided a breath sample which resulted in a BAC of .149. Soggie was placed under arrest and transported to the Public Safety building where he later provided a breath sample that resulted in a BAC of .125. Soggie was charged with Driving Under the Influence, and DUI with a BAC over .08; he was also cited for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Speeding for driving 50mph in a 35mph zone.
