
Bonnie J. Brown, 97, of Galesburg, passed away peacefully at 9:15 p.m. Friday, October 16, 2020, at home.
Bonnie was born August 4, 1923, in Green County, Missouri the daughter of William Marion and Fannie P. (Pulse) Lair. She married Fred T. Brown on November 28, 1938, in St. Louis, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 11, 2006.
She is survived by her son, Timothy (and Jacqui) Brown of Galesburg; her daughter, Jeanette Potts of Galesburg; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her son, Ronald L. Brown, son-in-law, Gayle Potts, and a granddaughter, Michelle Elder.
Bonnie first worked for Healey Real Estate in 1968. She later was a real estate broker when she and her husband owned and operated Diversified Real Estate, Better Homes and Gardens in Galesburg. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a very giving person that volunteered for many activities. She was a member of the Galesburg Noon Women’s Lions Club. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Bonnie was a person who loved animals and working outdoors in her garden.
Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. Rev. Mary Runge will officiate. No public visitation is scheduled. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials may be made to the Gordon Behrent’s Senior Center, Galesburg.
