235 new COVID cases in Knox County for the past week

Knox County has again set a new high mark for new COVID-19 cases in a week with health officials saying the county has 235 cases since last Tuesday.

Knox has set a new high for cases in four of the last five weeks.

The county has a recovery rate of 94 percent, compared to Illinois’ rate of 97.

Erin Olson, Public Information Officer with the Knox County Health Department says that 49 individuals are asymptomatic or recovering at home, and eight individuals are currently hospitalized and nine total deaths.

In fact, four of those deaths came last week.

Warren County has 65 cases since last week, Fulton County has 128, and even in Stark County, there was a case increase of 15 percent.
