The driver of a vehicle that veered off the road near East Galesburg early Friday morning sustained life-threatening injuries.

Illinois State Police are saying that 23-year-old Kyle Woodside of Wataga was ejected from his vehicle after an investigation determined he veered off the road in a 2002 Chevy.

Woodside is facing driving under the influence charges as well as other traffic violations.

Woodside and two passengers overturned an unknown number of times before the vehicle came to a rest on its passenger side in a driveway.

ISP says this took place on Blaze Road just east of County Highway 9, and just north of East Galesburg.

Noah Hillier of Knoxville and Kayla Butler of Galesburg were the passengers. They were transported to a local hospital with injuries described as “non-life threatening.”

Woodside’s condition at this time has not been released.
