Saturday and Sunday night disturbances lead to arrests at Monkey Business

Just after 5:30 pm on Saturday, November 7th, Galesburg Police were dispatched to Monkey Business on Cherry Street in Galesburg in reference to a fight reported in progress. According to police reports, after separating the men, officers learned that 41-year-old Ryan Bird of Galesburg struck another man sitting at the bar during an argument. Bird was arrested for Aggravated Battery in a Public Place and transported to the Knox County Jail.

On Sunday, November 8th, just after 9:00 pm, Galesburg Police were dispatched to Monkey Business in reference to an unwanted subject. Upon arrival, officers were directed to a highly intoxicated 36-year old Jacklyn Anderson of Galesburg whom officers have had prior encounters. While speaking with officers, Anderson wouldn’t stop moving and nearly fell several times. Officers placed Anderson under arrest for Public Intoxication and refused to walk to a patrol vehicle. She was given an additional charge of Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer after kicking an officer when she was placed in a squad car. Back at the Knox County Jail, Anderson’s BAC came back as .356.
