
Harold D. Morss, 90, of Galesburg, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020, 12:27 AM, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Harold was born on September 18, 1930, in Knoxville. He was the son of Frank and Edith (Halsey) Morss. Harold married the love of his life, Norma Mae Peterson on September 16, 1951, at the Maxey Chapel in rural Knoxville. She preceded him in death on January 24, 2017, after 65 years of marriage. Harold is survived by his children, Tim (Hope) Morss of Watertown, TN, Rod Morss of Galesburg, and Christine Morss of Peoria, IL; a sister, Delores Morss of Galesburg; twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and three sisters.
Harold graduated from Gilson High School. He then went on to Brown’s Business College. He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War. He went on the Honor flight in October 2016 to Washington, D.C. Harold was owner and operator of HDM Agri Sales from 1976-1994. He also worked at Gates Manufacturing. He was a member of the East Galesburg Community Church. He enjoyed westerns, the Bears, and CUBS, he was able to see them win the Championship. He was an avid Gardner. He was a wonderful Dad, Papa, Uncle, Brother, and Friend. He was a man of faith and family.
Graveside service will be 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 14, 2020, at Westfall Cemetery, Victoria. Danny England will officiate. Military Honors will be conducted at the Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, facemasks and social distancing will be required. Memorials contributions may be made to the East Galesburg Community Church.
